Gifts 101
Gift Progression Rule
Any player character (PC) capable of buying Gifts must do so in a pyramid-like progression. This means that to purchase a Gift of a higher Rank, the PC must have already purchased a certain number of Gifts from the preceding Ranks. The progression requirement is as follows:
- To buy a Rank 1 Gift: No prerequisites.
- To buy a Rank 2 Gift: The PC must have at least two Rank 1 Gift.
- To buy a Rank 3 Gift: The PC must have at least two Rank 2 Gifts and three Rank 1 Gifts.
- To buy a Rank 4 Gift: The PC must have at least two Rank 3 Gifts, three Rank 2 Gifts, and four Rank 1 Gifts.
- To buy a Rank 5 Gift: The PC must have at least two Rank 4 Gifts, three Rank 3 Gifts, four Rank 2 Gifts, and five Rank 1 Gifts.
- To buy a second Rank 5 Gift: The PC must have at least three Rank 4 Gifts, four Rank 3 Gifts, five Rank 2 Gifts, and six Rank 1 Gifts.
Example
- **First Rank 3 Gift:** The PC must have two Rank 2 Gifts and three Rank 1 Gifts.
- **First Rank 4 Gift:** The PC must have two Rank 3 Gifts, three Rank 2 Gifts, and four Rank 1 Gifts.
- **First Rank 5 Gift:** The PC must have two Rank 4 Gifts, three Rank 3 Gifts, four Rank 2 Gifts, and five Rank 1 Gifts.
- **Second Rank 5 Gift:** The PC must have three Rank 4 Gifts, four Rank 3 Gifts, five Rank 2 Gifts, and six Rank 1 Gifts.
This rule ensures that PCs develop their abilities in a structured manner, maintaining a balanced progression across all Gift ranks and demonstrating a broad and deep understanding before advancing to higher ranks.
