Introduction
Welcome to the Wyrm Sphere, where the shadows of corporate ambition and supernatural malevolence intertwine. In this unique setting of the World of Darkness Mush, players step into the roles of employees within Pentex, the nefarious multinational corporation secretly devoted to the Wyrm's destructive agenda.
On this mush, Wyrm Sphere PCs are employees of Pentex without exception. The purpose of this is to unite PCs under an established chain of commands. For BSDs, the pit elders are NPCs who are also employees of Pentex.
Pentex is not just a company; it's a global conglomerate with its fingers in every conceivable pie, from pharmaceuticals and entertainment to energy and consumer goods. Behind the scenes, however, it serves a far darker purpose: spreading corruption, environmental devastation, and moral decay, all in service of the Wyrm—a primordial force of entropy and destruction.
In the Wyrm Sphere, your character is more than just a cog in the machine; they are a vital agent in the corporation's grand design. Whether you're a ruthless executive climbing the corporate ladder, a scientist pushing the boundaries of forbidden knowledge, or a field agent carrying out covert operations, your actions contribute to the slow unraveling of the world. And while the ultimate goal may be apocalyptic, the journey is filled with power, wealth, and an indulgence in every vice imaginable.
This sphere allows for a wide range of characters, from Malfean Nephandi and Technocrat Barrabi mages to independent vampires, Black Spiral Dancers, and even the twisted Mockery Breeds and Fomori. Each character brings a unique set of skills and perspectives, united by their allegiance to Pentex and the Wyrm. While they may have different motivations—some driven by a lust for power, others by a twisted sense of duty—all are complicit in the grand design to bring about the end of days.
As a player in the Wyrm Sphere, you'll navigate a world of corporate intrigue, dark rituals, and clandestine operations, all while maintaining a veneer of respectability. The stakes are high, and the rewards are tantalizing, but the price of power is always steep. Are you ready to embrace the darkness and play your part in the final chapter of the world?
Join us, and let the corruption begin.
History
2010-2015: Initial Setbacks and Alliance Building
- 2010-2013: The Garou Nation, led by Él Arbol, launched aggressive offensives against Pentex. Two key Black Spiral Dancer Hives, led by Malachi "Night-Howler" Thorne and Isabella "Dark-Watcher" Marek, were destroyed. Malachi was slain during a failed ritual to summon a powerful Bane, while Isabella fell in a final stand against the Garou, her Hive collapsing around her in a massive underground explosion.
Pentex responded by forming a coalition with other Wyrm-aligned entities, including Fomarchs, Ferectoi, Kindred, Nephandi, Technocrat Barrabi, and Fallen Fera. This coalition aimed to regroup and prepare for a more subversive approach.
- 2015: Formation of the Wellness & Environmental Sustainability Project (WESP)
WESP was established as a joint venture by Siren Cosmetics, Magadon Pharmaceuticals, and Endron International. Publicly, it promoted health, wellness, and environmental sustainability, but secretly, it aimed to expand Pentex's influence through various covert means.
Key Components and Hidden Agendas:
- Wellness Centers: High-end centers offering beauty treatments and health services, using Siren and Magadon products to subtly influence patrons and gather intelligence.
- Eco-Friendly Energy Solutions: Projects like wind and solar farms, masking Endron's harmful activities and targeting environmental activists.
- Community Health Outreach: Free clinics and programs distributing experimental drugs and collecting data under the guise of health services.
- Educational Programs and Scholarships: Funding initiatives to influence young minds and recruit future leaders sympathetic to Pentex's cause.
- Media and Public Relations Campaign: A massive effort to control public perception and promote WESP's supposed achievements.
2016-2018: Quiet Preparations and Covert Influence
With Él Arbol's continued resistance, Pentex shifted to subtler methods. The Special Projects Division and supernatural allies focused on undermining San Diego's spiritual and social fabric.
Nephandi and Technocrat Barrabi manipulated spiritual nodes and ley lines, while Fallen Fera infiltrated various circles to gather intelligence. Kindred discreetly supported these efforts, assisting with logistics and spreading Wyrm-tainted products through the wellness centers.
2019: The Dawn of a New Strategy
Pentex refined its approach, emphasizing long-term subversion. WESP continued its operations, increasing Pentex's control over local resources and subtly influencing the populace.
The coalition's efforts were coordinated to destabilize the city's spiritual defenses, using the guise of eco-friendly projects and community outreach to mask their true intentions.
2020: A Pivotal Year of Consolidation
- El Árbol's Decline: As the Caern spirit Él Arbol weakened, Pentex and its allies prepared to exploit the situation, setting the stage for future actions. Plans were laid to take advantage of the potential power vacuum without direct confrontation.
- Strategic Subversion: The coalition deepened their influence, with Technocrat Barrabi and Nephandi subtly shaping the media narrative and public perception. WESP's PR campaign positioned the joint venture as a positive force, while its hidden agendas continued to advance Pentex's goals.
Present Day: Current Initiatives and Expansion
- Further Distribution of Wyrm-Tainted Products:
WESP's Ongoing Influence: Siren Cosmetics and Magadon Pharmaceuticals continue to expand their product lines, subtly lacing everyday items with Wyrm-tainted substances. These products are distributed widely through wellness centers and mainstream retail, gradually eroding the spiritual resilience of the population. New marketing campaigns target vulnerable demographics, including teens and young adults, to broaden the reach of these corrupted products.
- Abductions and Cultivation of New Fomori:
Special Projects Division Operations: The abduction and conversion of individuals into fomori have intensified. Victims, often drawn from marginalized or unnoticed segments of society, are subjected to extreme conditioning and Wyrm rituals to transform them into loyal agents. These fomori are then embedded within key sectors of society, including law enforcement, corporate structures, and community organizations, to further Pentex's agenda.
- Expansion of Ocean Operations:
Introduction of Menantol Ark: Pentex has launched a new, cutting-edge offshore platform named Menantol Ark. This futuristic, almost small town-sized oil rig and underwater research lab serves as a hub for both legitimate and covert activities. On the surface, it functions as a pioneering facility for renewable energy research and marine biology. However, beneath the waves, it harbors secret laboratories conducting genetic experiments, including the breeding of aquatic fomori and the development of bio-chemical weapons. The Menantol Ark also plays a critical role in resource extraction and environmental manipulation, ensuring Pentex's dominance in oceanic ventures.
- Establishment of a Joint Operations Center:
Coordinated Corporate Command: A new Joint Operations Center has been established within San Diego, serving as the nerve center for all Pentex subsidiaries operating in the region. This facility coordinates the activities of Siren Cosmetics, Magadon Pharmaceuticals, Endron International, and other Pentex branches. It provides real-time intelligence, logistical support, and tactical response capabilities, ensuring a unified and efficient approach to maintaining and expanding Pentex's influence. The center also serves as a liaison hub for supernatural allies, facilitating cooperation and strategy development among the various Wyrm-aligned entities.
Disciplinary Actions
Pentex employs a structured disciplinary system to maintain order and efficiency. The system follows a "three strikes" approach, escalating in severity with each infraction:
Tier Zero: Verbal Warning
A supervisor will discuss the issue with the employee, explaining the unacceptable behavior and outlining corrective measures. This tier is informal and does not result in a written record.
Tier One: Written Warning
At this stage, the employee receives a formal written notice detailing the infraction. A meeting is held to discuss the issue and agree on an action plan to prevent future occurrences. The written warning is documented in the employee's file.
Tier Two: Suspension
Employees who reach this tier are suspended without pay for a duration determined by their manager, typically ranging from five to thirty days. During this time, an extensive action plan is developed. Upon return, the employee must adhere to this plan or face further disciplinary actions.
Tier Three: Termination
If prior measures fail to correct the behavior, the employee is terminated. The termination process includes the return of company property and a final meeting with Human Resources and Security. Terminated employees may be utilized for experimental research, continuing to serve the company post-employment.
Anti-Discrimination Policy
Pentex is committed to fostering an inclusive and equitable work environment. The company offers equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants, irrespective of race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, genetic makeup, or marital status. This policy extends to all employees, including human, lycanthrope, and Endowed individuals (Fomori).
The company prohibits any form of harassment, including verbal, physical, and psychological. This includes discrimination against Endowed employees, who may experience unique challenges. Pentex acknowledges the stressful nature of their condition and prohibits any actions that exacerbate these challenges.
Reporting Discrimination
Employees witnessing or experiencing discrimination are encouraged to report it to Human Resources. Reports should be supported by evidence, such as recordings or written statements, to ensure a fair and thorough investigation. While Pentex strives to maintain confidentiality, there may be instances where the involved parties become aware of the investigation. The company aims to minimize any negative impact on employees during this process.
